Rêverie
I came across Debussy's Rêverie again recently. Debussy was one of the first composers I loved when I started listening to classical music. My taste has drifted over the years, and these days I lean toward the German and Austrian composers, Beethoven above all. Hearing this piece again was still lovely. I hope I always manage to keep time for the things I love. The performance I keep returning to is Bruce Liu's.

Clair de Lune
Clair de Lune is the third movement of Debussy's Suite bergamasque. He first sketched it around 1890, but it did not settle into the version we know until the suite was published in 1905. The title comes from Paul Verlaine's poem of the same name, and Debussy writes the moonlight with shifting harmonies and continuous arpeggios. It is his most widely loved piece and the one most often performed on its own. I recorded this in October 2022; only the first half survives.
